Presented by Sue Prescott
Solstice celebrations and the mythology associated with them have been around since ancient times. Not only do they rejoice in the changes that happen in nature with the return of the sun, they also honor the spiritual development within a human being—the dawning of the Christ consciousness within. This is an inner birth and is reflected in many of the mythologies of the world religions which have their saviors or central religious figures being born at the Winter Solstice. This includes Krishna, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Horus, Tammuz, Mithras, Zoroaster and Quetzalcoatl.
Join Sue Prescott as she explores the breadth of these mythologies and the commonalities in their themes and legends. The presentation will end with honoring the various Solstice Saviors or world teachers to commemorate their lives.
Author of Realizing the Self Within, a book on accessing one’s own inner wisdom, Sue is a social worker, therapist, life-long theosophist, and frequent lecturer at the Theosophical Society.
